What would it feel like to fall madly in love with yourself? Have you ever asked yourself that question?” – Christine Arylo

Imagine this; as you’re pulling up to your engagement party, your fiancé turns to you and tells you he doesn’t love you anymore and doesn’t want to marry you. Oh and by the way, he’s also been cheating on you for the past six months.

This exact situation happened to Christine Arylo, and she did what many of us would do; she fell apart.

“We were living together at the time and I stayed with him. I kept trying to get him to love me again. I was a successful and confidant businesswoman, and yet I didn’t have enough self-love to walk away from this man. I finally saw an astrologer who told me, ‘You can spend the next forty years chasing after him, or you can walk away and life will open up for you in ways you never dreamed possible.’ That was what I needed to hear.”

Her words gave Christine the courage to go home and pack her bags.  “We were also business partners, so I left everything; my home, my business, even my dog. I was staying with a friend and as I lay in her bed that night, feeling that gaping hole in my heart because he was missing, I heard a voice say, “it’s not him that’s missing, it’s you.

These words were the catalyst for Christine to embark on a journey to find out why she was missing from her own life. “What I realized was that I had a lot of self-esteem, but I didn’t love myself at all.”

Christine goes on to explain that while self-esteem is linked to our worldly success, self-love comes from an acceptance and love for ourselves regardless of outward achievement.

As she traveled the journey to loving herself, she discovered she wasn’t alone; women from all walks of life had no idea what it meant to truly love themselves. She launched her websites and wrote a book Choosing Me Before We, The Every Woman’s Guide to Self Love.

She also realized that much of the abuse came from within, which prompted her to launch her ‘Inner Mean Girl Reform School.’

Christine’s goal is to change the way women think about themselves, and to make loving ourselves not only acceptable, but a priority in our lives. Her programs teach women how to make self love real, practical and tangible.  Along with her workshops, she also offers a free downloadable Madly in Love with Me starter kit.

Three years ago she launched the International Day of Self Love, which is celebrated each February 13th.
